LP Representative Elect In Enugu, Chidi Obetta Promises His Constituency Effective Administration

Hon. Chidi Obetta, the House of Representative elect for Nsukka/Igboeze-South Federal constituency of Enugu State who defeated his closest rival, Hon. Vita Abba of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has made pledges of effective representation for his constituency ahead of his administration.

While speaking to newsmen on Tuesday in an interview, he mentioned that he will carry all constituents along irrespective of political party affiliations.

Commenting on his victory, he stated that his constituency will witness quality and effective representation, using his connections locally and internationally to attract quality democracy dividends to the constituency.

He pledged to his constituents saying, “I will carry everybody along in the constituency not minding the political party any person belongs. I will open two constituency offices, one in Nsukka and another one in Igboeze-South.

“This will help me to get contributions and problems of the people, so as to know how to address their problems as well as make use of their contributions.”

Raising hope for the youths, Obetta added that he would empower the youths by supporting their businesses as well as starting Small Medium Enterprises (SME) for those who have nothing doing.

“As one who has worked in the bank for many years before establishing my own business I know the importance of SME in any country’s economy.

“Developed countries give special attention to SME because of its positive multiplying effects on the economy,” he said.

The House of Rep elect further buttressed that, he had employed many people from the constituency in his private business and added that with his new status, it would enable him to give more people employment.

Obetta also disclosed that some candidates of other political parties who contested with him in the February 25 poll have called him to congratulate him on his victory.”I am happy that the country’s democracy is making progress.”

“Some of my opponents in the last Saturday elections have called, to congratulate me on my victory. “I appreciate their calls , their spirit of sportsmanship, and I have promised them, we will work together to move the constituency forward,”he said.

Obetta thanked the people of Enugu State for giving massive votes to LP in the last Saturday election that made the party to record the landslide.

Recall that the Feb. 25 election brought about political victory to some politicians and others ran out of luck. There were number of LP candidates in various states winning for the first time. In Nsukka/Igbo- Eze constituency, Obetta of the LP scored 50,881 votes to defeat his rival, Chief Vita Abba of PDP who polled 19, 347 votes.

Obetta would take over from Dr. Pat Asadu who had been representing the constituency in the House of Representatives for 16 years.
