The outgoing First Lady, Aisha Buhari, gave the incoming First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, a tour of key areas of the official residence for the Presidential family at Aso Rock Villa on Tuesday.
Mrs. Buhari, who welcomed Mrs. Tinubu, explained that the Glass House in the villa serves as the transitional home for the first family. She noted that the glass house is meant for presidents during the transition period.
For security reasons, journalists were not granted access to some parts of the residence during the tour.
Mrs. Buhari stated, “The highly secured residential area of the president of the federal republic of Nigeria is strictly to serve as accommodation for the president and members of the family.
She further explained that the Glass House is temporary lodging for outgoing presidents to allow for necessary renovations on the main house for the incoming president and their family.
Mrs. Tinubu expressed appreciation to the First Lady for the warm welcome extended to her. She pledged to work tirelessly for the benefit of all Nigerians.
President Muhammadu Buhari will hand over leadership to President-elect Bola Tinubu on May 29.
